The problem

Good intentions do not reach out. Plans do.

You know you should follow up, reconnect and say thanks. Then the week fills up, and the relationships that matter go quiet. Not for lack of care, but for lack of a next step.

94

independent tests found that specific plans had a medium-to-large effect on goal attainment

5,900+

participants across studies in which people underestimated how much others appreciate being reached out to

How it works

How do Next Best Actions work? Three steps.

A short list, not another inbox.

  1. 1

    Virre picks

Each day it suggests a few people to contact, based on your goals and what you know about each relationship.

  2. 2

    You review

See why each person is on the list, the context from your last conversation and a draft in your style.

  3. 3

    You act

Edit the draft, reach out by platform message, email or a meeting, and mark it done.

What shows up

What counts as a next best action?

Six kinds of small step that keep a network warm and moving toward your goals.

01

Reach out

Someone who can help with your goal and has not heard from you yet.

02

Reconnect

Someone you have lost touch with, who could help now.

03

Follow up

Close the loop on a conversation, an introduction or a promise you made.

04

Say thanks

When someone gives you an opportunity or a referral, thank them and tell them what happened.

05

Save an opportunity

A referral or a hiring lead from someone? Save it, and keep the context in one place until you act.

06

Prepare for a meeting

See what you discussed last time and what to raise next, before you walk in.

The science of follow-through

What behavioral science says about following through.

Here is what three studies found, and how Next Best Actions puts each idea to work.

01

A plan beats a good intention

A meta-analysis of 94 independent tests found that specific plans, which spell out when, where and how to act, had a medium-to-large effect on goal attainment.

Gollwitzer and Sheeran, Advances in Experimental Social Psychology, 2006. Abstract

How Virre uses it

Every suggestion is one specific step for today.

02

Naming the time helps

In a flu-shot field study, a prompt to write down the date and time of a planned shot raised vaccination by 4.2 percentage points over a 33.1% control rate. A date alone made no significant difference.

Milkman et al., PNAS, 2011. Abstract

How Virre uses it

The list is for today, with a time cost on each step.

03

Old contacts still deliver

Executive MBA students who asked dormant ties for help on an important project got results that compared favorably with those from their current ties.

Levin, Walter and Murnighan, Organization Science, 2011. Abstract

How Virre uses it

Reconnect is one of the kinds of action it suggests.

What are Next Best Actions?

Next Best Actions is the Virre feature that suggests which relationships to tend next and what to do. Each day it offers a few people to contact, with the reason, the context from your last conversation and a draft you can edit, so staying in touch takes about nine minutes.

How does Virre decide what to suggest?

Virre suggests actions that connect to your goals and to what you know about each relationship, such as someone who can help, a contact you have lost touch with or a promise you made. You see why each person is on the list, and you decide what to act on.

How long do Next Best Actions take each day?

About nine minutes a day. You get a short list, and each action comes with context and an editable draft, so you act in minutes instead of planning for hours. Small, regular steps keep a network warm without taking over your day.

Does Virre send messages for me?

No. Virre drafts a message you can edit, and you send it by platform message, email or a meeting. Nothing goes out without you. Every relationship stays yours, in your words.

How is this different from a CRM reminder?

A CRM reminder tells you when to follow up. Next Best Actions tells you who, why now and what to say, tied to your goals. Each suggestion comes with the context of the relationship and a draft you can edit before you send it.

Can it help me reconnect with people I have lost touch with?

Yes. Dormant contacts are easy to overlook. In one study, executive MBA students who asked dormant ties for help on an important project got results that compared favorably with those from their current ties. Virre can bring these people forward when they could help with your goal.

What happens when someone gives me an opportunity?

You can save it, such as a referral or a hiring lead, and keep the context in one place. Virre then helps you act on it, and reminds you to thank the person who helped and to tell them how it went.

Will it help me prepare for a meeting?

Yes. Virre keeps the context of each relationship, such as what you discussed and what you promised. Before the next meeting, you can see where you left off and what to raise, so you walk in prepared instead of trying to remember.

Where do I start with Next Best Actions?

Start with a goal. Goal Mapping shows who in your network can help, and Next Best Actions turns that map into a short list for today. Sign up, say what you want to achieve, and your first list follows from it.

How much does Virre cost?

Starter is free. Pro is $9.99 a month and Pro+ is $19.99 a month at limited-time prices, billed monthly, and you can cancel any time. Teams, event organizers and communities get custom pricing on the Organizations plan: talk to our team and we will shape a plan around your people.

Who is behind Virre?

I built Virre because I believe the right relationships change everything, and they rarely happen by accident. After more than 25 years in senior leadership roles, I had thousands of connections and still did not know who could actually help me when I started my own venture. Virre exists so the people who matter are never lost in a contact list. Gunjan Aggarwal, Founder and CEO of Virre.
